As either a Creative Writing teacher , I would use concept maps and storyboards for my class. I think each of these tools gives the writer a clear consensus of what they want to discuss on a paper. It makes one idea turn into papragraphs of insight. I think the tools that I could use to accomplish this goal would be either a projector on which I could make an example for the kids to follow, or an online step-by-step guide located on my website to help my kids understand what's importand and what's not important in a paper.

I would stress for my kids to use an outline map because it is the best thing you can do to organize your ideas before writing any type of paper. In any type of class that involves writing something, I think that you should always use tools such as idea maps and storyboarding skills. You don't want to prepeare a sloppy paper where your ideas are all over the place and I think that these types of helpful little "plans" will help when it comes to keeping your ideas and thoughts in order.

Within the last week, I know we learned to work with the Inspiration program. I never knew such a program existed and I think it's great when it comes to storyboarding or outlining anything. I especially loved the assignment where you had to make a family tree...I think I may actally do that for my mom and grandma as gifts. I think this tools will especially come in handy if I continue on the path to be a creative writing teacher.
